摘要
Depression has become one major psychiatric disorder, which troubles the life of millions worldwide. In general, depression is treated with antidepressant drugs, and usually assisted by non-medication treatments, such as psychotherapy and physical therapy. Due to their expensive and time-consuming nature, these therapy sessions often ended with patients losing motivation to continue, and results unsatisfied recovery progress. In addition, both psychotherapy and physical therapy are highly human intensive. Thus, a novel neurofeedback game framework, which supports depression rehabilitation may provide new opportunities. In this paper, we present a new Virtual-Reality based neurofeedback game framework for depression rehabilitation, which would increase patients' motivation for therapy, and lower the cost for both patients and therapists. In our framework, patients' EEG data are pervasively recorded using an innovative three-electrode EEG collector. Then the data are processed and calculated into feedback features, and finally represented back to patients through Virtual-Reality games in real-time. Experiment for prototype system of using our framework is conducted and clinical testing are planned for further evaluation.
