摘要
The article presents a study of an early numismatic work about Anglo-Saxon coins - the description of a treasure found in 1611 at Harkirk (Lancashire) by an English Catholic gentleman William Blundell. The author shows that the descriptions of individual coins, identified and set into their historical context, served to shape the identity of the Lancashire Catholic community - local, but also English, and supra-national, i.e., Catholic.
