Superconductivity in the Mo2Re3B compound

We report on the synthesis and basic superconducting properties of a completely new Mo2Re3B ternary boride. The crystal structure Of Mo2Re3B is characterised by Pmmm space group and the cell parameters: a = 11.626 angstrom, b = 8.465 angstrom and c = 8.026 angstrom. The critical temperature is T-c = 8.5 K, whereas the lower and the upper-critical fields at zero temperature are mu H-0(c1)(0) = 19.2 mT and mu H-0(c2)(0) = 3.7 T, respectively. The corresponding Ginzburg-Landau parameter is kappa = 16.5 and the superconducting gap is estimated to be 2 Delta/k(B)T(c) approximate to 3.2. (c) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
