摘要
The present paper describes the state of the art and future perspectives of cermets for cutting tools. The performance of diverse cermet grades are compared with std cutting tool materials for turning and milling applications of different work materials with diverse machinability. Results obtained in continuous, interrupted, wet and dry operations tests are presented and discussed. The aim of the present paper is to provide a critical review of potential and applicability of most diffused cermet grades for cutting applications.
