摘要
Important mechanical and microstructural features of superplastic (SP) materials are summarised. The advantages and limitations of SP forming of Al alloys, forming procedures and principal commercial applications, are outlined. Recent procedures for developing ultra-fine grain sizes leading to high strain and/or low temperature superplasticity are discussed. Procedures and problems associated with the diffusion bonding of SP Al alloys are examined.
