摘要
Utilizing skateboarding in the San Francisco Bay Area at its case study,Moving Boardersprovide diverse depictions of young skateboarders and the macro forces that influence their experiences in the skate park. This book examines how modern families embrace skateboarding and what role capitalism plays in shaping this unexpected new parent culture, as private corporations, community leaders, and nonprofits seek to build skate parks as platforms for community and youth development. Altogether, this book proves to be highly insightful and will serve as a benchmark for future research around skateboarding.
