摘要
In this paper, the possibility and validity of damage detection based on velocity response of a simply supported beam under the moving load are examined theoretically and numerically. The beam vibration subjected to moving load is briefly described, by which the principle of damage detection based on the velocity response is explained theoretically. Numerical simulations of responses of a beam subjected to a moving load will be conducted. Velocity responses are obtained by numerical method and used for damage detection. The damage location can be accurately identified by wavelet transform of 'gaus5'. Effects of noise level and moving load speed on the accuracy of damage identification are investigated. The weakness of the proposed method is that it is available with slow load speed. The faster load speed can induce undesirable disturbing nearby the boundary and it is infaust for damage detection.
