A number of polysubstituted cyclopentenes have been obtained by a multicomponent catalyst-free reaction using a combination of beta-nitrostyrene, benzylidenemalononitriles and 2-morpholinoethyl isocyanide. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
