摘要
This paper discusses the fundamental trade-off between efficacy and colour rendering in artificial lighting and presents a possible solution to this problem under the form of a spectrally tunable LED light engine. Some of the major problems when trying to emulate natural light with artificial light sources are dealt with while explaining the hardware and software design of the system. A laboratory experiment makes clear conclusions regarding the efficacy and colour rendering possibilities of the LED light engine.
