We are making progress a new CAD standard based on homotopy data, by getting cooperation with a Research Committee of the JSME (Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers) on "lnfrastructure for Analysis & Communication in order to Realize Next-Generation," sponsored by about twenty companies. There are substantial limitations in CSG or BREPS Even though the research is still in the first stage and has nor obtained sufficient results yet, it should be noted that there are more enterprises focusing on the necessity of the new development than ever before. Here, first it is explained why the new CAD is necessary. Second the present status and the future perspective of the new CAD is described.
