Breather trapping mechanism in piecewise homogeneous DNA

摘要
We consider a nonlinear DNA model which has discontinuities of the bases. The discontinuity is the difference of the number of the hydrogen bonds. Incident, reflected and transmitted waves are described by the nonlinear Schrodinger equations on different coordinates. Fission and reflection of a soliton due to the discontinuity are explicitly shown. Applying the results to DNA dynamics, we consider localized excitations. The breather trapping system is like a mouse trap.
