Magnetization study of a UIrAl single crystal

摘要
The field and temperature dependence of the magnetization has been studied for the first time on a single crystal of the hexagonal intermetallic UlrAl. The compound is a ferromagnet below the Curie temperature T-C = 62 K with a ground-state spontaneous magnetic moment of M-s = 0.96 mu(B). The huge uniaxial anisotropy (the anisotropy field B-a exceeds 200 T) leads to characteristic hysteresis properties which obey the model of high intrinsic coercivity of narrow domain walls (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
