Instantaneous error calibration technology for electronic current transformer

In this paper, the necessity of using transient protective electronic current transformer in UHV power system is summarized.Also the electronic current transformer with the accuracy class of TPE and the test conditions are introduced.Based on these, the test method and test system of instantaneous error of electronic current transformer are presented which have been used in many tests on 110-800kV electronic current transformer. This test system meets the international standard and IEC standard of instantaneous error test. Compared with the existing test systems, the difference of the maximum peak instantaneous error is less than 0.5%.
