A novel nano-fibrous catalyst was prepared in which palladium is coordinated with Poly (styrene-co-acrylonitrile), then the poly (styrene-coacrylonitrile) coordinated PdCl2 catalyst (PS-AN-Pd) were electrospun into nano fiber with electrospining technique. The complexes are highly active for the hydrogenation of a-olefin at room temperature under 1 atm. hydrogen pressure. In addition, it is found that the activity of these PS-AN-Pd catalyst is mainly affected by their N/Pd atomic ratio and its morphology.
