摘要
The article examines the collaboration of Winston Churchill, British Secretary of State for War, and the Finnish General, C.G. Mannerheim, in plans to launch military offensives against St Petersburg in 1919 and 1920. It argues that a more nuanced view of Churchill's role in the pursuit of an anti-Bolshevik Russian intervention is called for. The cultivation of Eastern and Northern European anti-Bolsheviks formed an essential part of Churchill's interventionist efforts, through which Churchill tried to create an international war coalition possibly operating beyond official pre-authorization.
