This article presents laboratory experiments to study the effectiveness of methane injection into core plugs of a real lean gas condensate reservoir in Iran, namely Jahroom, to revaporize the immobile condensate deposited as a result of the natural depletion process. The studies include two parts: (1) natural depletion process from initial reservoir pressure (5,240 psia) to the current reservoir pressure (2,780 psia); and (2) pressure maintenance at the current reservoir pressure by methane flooding. Results show that for the natural depletion process, the ultimate condensate recovery was 34%. However, ultimate recovery would be 82% after 2.5 pore volume methane injection.
