摘要
Research on geotechnical behavior of different soils is the important part of nowadays engineering investigations. On the behavior of granular soils, some kinds of differences, especially between the properties of the calcareous and siliceous sands have been reported by many researchers. In this study, an experimental investigation on the geotechnical behavior of calcareous and siliceous sands was conducted. The carbonate sand was obtained from the north of the Persian Gulf, Bushehr Port, and the used siliceous sand is the Firuzkooh No. 161 sand. Two series of shaking table and triaxial tests were performed to investigate the differences under static and dynamic loadings. The results showed that, there are many differences in the geotechnical behavior of these sands, especially during seismic loading in saturated conditions.
