摘要：

The potential of diametral stress-strain behavior of igneous rocks in Brazilian tension test, was analyzed. It was observed that sensitivity of the behavioral patterns in the early stages of weathering enables minor variations brought about by weathering. The deformational behaviors at the initial stage of loading may be considered a reliable indicator of weathering-induced mechanical changes. It was also observed that grain size differences have a noticeable influence on deformational behavior.
