WOODROW WILSON, WILSONIANISM, AND THE IDEALISM OF FAITH

Woodrow Wilson, the 28(th) president of the United States, was deeply and profoundly influenced by his religious faith. On this point few historians disagree. Where they do disagree is about how and how much that faith influenced his political and international policies. Wilson's view of the world was not neatly separated into sacred and secular. Doing God's will was wrapped up in his view of his mission in secular life. The complexity of his mind is made more understandable to those who recognize the faith dimension.
