Taking 487 research papers on martial arts dissemination between 2000-2014 in CNKI database as samples, and using bibliometrics and scientific knowledge mapping, this paper analyzes the number of annual research papers, research efforts and research topics of martial arts dissemination in China. The results show that the number of research papers on martial arts dissemination is increasing year by year, but increases slowly presently; research efforts mainly focus on universities, mainly professional sports colleges, most of the researchers and institutions conduct studies independently, and long-term and sustainable inter-institution cooperative studies are few; the research hot topics in this field are martial arts culture, martial arts standardization, martial arts dissemination for building country image, international dissemination of martial arts, traditional martial arts, development strategy and the like, and the research dimensions are mainly dissemination content, dissemination method, dissemination strategy, disseminator and comprehensive research. Further studies suggest to strengthen innovative research on themes and methods theory; increase the efforts of new forces cultivation and inter-regional and inter-institution cooperation; strengthen the topic research on dissemination mode, dissemination process, dissemination object, dissemination effect, dissemination environment and so on.
