摘要：

A new species of Bysmatrum, a genus of peridinoid, thecate, photosynthetic dinoflagellates, is described from tidal sand habitats in north-western Australia. The thecal plate formula is Po X 4' 3a 7 '' 6c 4s 5 '''' 2 ''''. The species differs from other described species of this genus in its size and shape, its strongly descending cingulum, its smooth thecal surface with many small pores and its indented antapical plates. The main features of the genus Bysmatrum are reviewed.
