摘要
Metacognitive strategies help students examine how they think so that learning can be enhanced. Teaching metacognitive skills is a low-budget strategy, requires minimal time, and garners student improvements in thinking skills. Wrappers are brief metacognitive activities that can be used to assist nursing students to prioritize information from lecture and required readings. They are also useful in increasing awareness of thinking and reasoning errors that were made during examinations. This article presents 3 types of wrappers (homework, lecture, and examination) to help students improve their thinking and overall performance. Copyright © 2016 Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc.
