摘要：

A critical mission of the US Food and Drug Administration ( FDA) is to protect public health by ensuring the safety and efficacy of medical products. With the plethora of innovative new medical products under development and a growing body of emerging research, such as natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and research in the human microbiome, the FDA has increasingly sponsored collaborative research with academic institutions, including Centers of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation ( CERSI).
