Guidelines for a More Agile, Productive and Integrated New Technologies Employment

Access to new technologies coupled with the interoperable aspect promoted by cyber physical systems and the internet of things has turned all departments of companies into places able to promote innovations. With more people from different backgrounds thinking and producing new ideas the opportunities can grow exponentially. Identifying the applicable technologies requires more agile development tools. Thus, the aim of this article is to illustrate, through the methodological design of a panel of experts, how a less formal process of searching for technological innovations can lead to the unfolding of corporate strategy to improve the profitability and performance of the productive processes. The results highlight the conflict over the capacity of resources to develop technological applications, but a more flexible model allowed a greater understanding of the corporate strategies, promoting the unfolding of applicable actions recognized as relevant. The gains were a greater commitment, a sense of participation and increased collaboration between different collaborators. (C) 2019 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
