Syntheses and structural characterizations of cis-[M(NO)2(CNXyl)4]+ (M = Nb, Ta; Xyl=2,6-Me2C6H3).: The first dinitrosyls of niobium and tantalum

摘要
The first dinitrosyls of niobium and tantalum, cis-[M(NO)(2)(CNXyl)(4)](+), have been prepared by direct nitrosylation of [M(CO)(6)](-) (M = Nb, Ta) with 2 equiv of [NO](+) in, the presence of 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide, CNXyl. These new complexes have been fully characterized by IR, H-1, and C-13 NMR spectra as well as X-ray crystallography.
