摘要
Optical communication systems will continue to play a significant role in the development of emerging network infrastructure. The areas of interest are focusing on optical networking for traditional telecommunications applications with emphasis on network and node design, traffic modeling and routing control and signaling, etc. An investigation of the performance of an Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks is described. Optical burst switching networks have received a lot of attention on the research community in the recent years. First the description of an OBS model created by implementation multiple single N-Channel network models in the library public simulation IKRSimLib 2.5 is presented. The JET protocol, first proposed by Qiao and Yoo in 1997 is used for resource allocation in these simulation model. This is followed by an investigation of two models of arrival process of bursts are applied, form performance evaluation for delay and dropping probabilities. In particular, the performance of wavelength conversion has been evaluated under traffic load. We combined the optical burst switching with single FDL buffers to enhance system performance..
