摘要
This report names and discusses the concept of Imagined Leverage in system dynamics: where limits to a system are set too narrow. This is seen very frequently in daily life, mostly without those involved realizing the problem. Models are given for this concept and its variants and from the results of some experiments is described how the accompanying problems in common settings might be solved. Finally three usual approaches of coping with Imagined Leverage are categorized: ignore or shift to another Imagined Leverage (Copycats); a bottom up one by trying to do a thorough study after all, forgoing any leverage (Analyzers) or a top down one by actively searching for a real leverage (Adapters). This article report the progress of ongoing research in using system dynamics for control engineering.
