摘要
By conducting a quantificational measurement of China-North Korea relations from 1991 to 2012, it was found that the interactions between the two nations were mainly positive. Bilateral relations between China and North Korea basically remained on a good and friendly level. However, there were several distinct fluctuations. Moreover, these fluctuations happened suddenly, and their frequency showed a rising trend. The development of China-North Korea relations requires expanding the bases of bilateral cooperation and enhancing the stability thereof. China should apply the necessary means of deterrence and active preventive measures in both the political and security areas, as well as discuss and coordinate with other relevant parties ways in which to create as soon as possible suitable mechanisms to handle any events unexpectedly arising on the Korean peninsula.
