摘要：

The paper is to probe into the image of Lolita in perspective of insect polymorphism. An object of Nabokov's insectological experiment in literature, Lolita is described as a polymorphous butterfly that embodies the three stages of an insect' s growth-larva, chrysalis and imago. Therefore, Nabokov believes polymorphism occurs on human being as on insects. The reasons why Nabokov takes Lolita as a polymorphous butterfly are studied in this paper in respects of literary value, scientific significance and moral impact.
