A novel 3-dimensional metallacrown supramolecule: Synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties

摘要
N-Acetyl-4-acetamidosalicylhydrazide (H(3)aamshz) reacts with Mn(OAc)(2)center dot 4H(2)O to form an 18-membered metallamacrocyclic hexamanganese compound [Mn(aamshz)(H2O)](6)center dot 12DMF (1) (DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide) with strong hydrogen bonds between neighboring units to form a 3-dimensional supramolecule. The compound crystallizes in the rhombohedral, space group R-3 with cell parameters a = 32.2867(16), c = 11.3109(6) angstrom, V = 10211.2(9) angstrom(3), Z = 3. And it was subjected to variable-temperature magnetic properties because of the building blocks containing Mn-III ions. The results show that the value of mu(eff) at 300 K (mu(eff) = 12.10 mu B) is close to the expected value for six non-interacting Mn-III with spin S = 2. (C) 2008 Elsevier Masson SAS.
