摘要
Most activated sludge plants around the world suffer from two persistent operational problems sludge bulking and biological foams or scums. Herein, the occurrence of bulking, and foaming in activated sludge plants is reviewed, and reasons for their occurrence are examined. Moreover, the usually practiced control measures to these problems are referred and evaluated. Case studies for Creek activated sludge wastewater treatment plants with bulking and foaming problems are presented too.
