A preliminary analysis of a trial involving participants with brain amyloid deposition who are at risk for dementia due to Alzheimer's disease showed no benefit of a beta-secretase enzyme inhibitor over placebo and a potential signal of worse cognitive test scores over 3 and 6 months.
