Ba'zinc'ga! A zinc-catalyzed sequence involving a cyclization with a subsequent C-O, C-N, or C-C bond formation enables the preparation of a variety of valuable furfuryl ethers (with alcohols) and unsymmetrically substituted triarylmethane derivatives (with azoles or arenes).
