Tomato flacca mutant is impaired in ABA aldehyde oxidase and xanthine dehydrogenase activities

摘要
The wilty mutants flacca (flc) and sitiens (sit) of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) are both impaired in the final step of abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis, which is assumed to be catalysed by a molybdoenzyme, ABA aldehyde oxidase. Mutant flc is lacking two enzymatic activities requiring a molybdenum cofactor (MoCo): xanthine dehydrogenase (XDH; EC 1.1.1.204) and aldehyde oxidase (EC 1.2.3.1), therefore it likely is a MoCo-deficient mutant, as aba1 of Nicotiana plumbaginifolia.
