摘要
The study aims at investigating the removal of copper (II) from wastewater using activated carbon (ACDS) and poly vinyl alcohol coated activated car-bon (PVAC-DS) as an unconventional adsorbent. The study determines the parameters that influence adsorption process such as pH of the solution, initial metal ion concentration, contact time and adsorbent dose. The equilibrium data of adsorbents used for the adsorption of metal ion from aqueous solution were analyzed in light of the various isotherm models. Comprehensive characterization of parameters indicates PVAC-DS to be a good material for adsorption of Cu (II) to treat wastewaters containing low metal ion concentration.
