摘要：

This article is a short review concerning the knowledge of petrographic compositions and origins of the diverse age coals in the eastern Ukraine regions, i.e. the Carboniferous age coals of the Dnieper-Donets Basin and the same age coals of the Donets Basin one as well as the Paleogene coals of Dnieper Brown Coal Basin. It was concluded that the coal-forming conditions depend on the geotectonic situations of the above basins. (C) 2004 Published by Elsevier B.V.
