摘要
The article examines the ways in which traces of globalization are manifested in Life Goes On (dir. Sangeeta Datta 2009), a contemporary film adaptation of King Lear that is set in London and centred on the life of an immigrant family of Hindus from Bengal. The melodramatic mode and the film's use of a mother figure and the metaphor of nature can all provoke reactions that may connect audiences worldwide.
