摘要
Er3+ doped ultra-transparent oxy-fluoride glass-ceramics (GC) for application in the 1.54 μm telecommunication window was presented. The emission spectrum of Er3+ at 1.54 μm for resulting GC was the broadest and flattest in nature. The broadness was of benefit for Er-doped optical fiber amplifier (EDFA) operating in the 1.54 μm fiber optic telecommunication window. Results showed that the largest wavelength divergence was obtained in the maximum of absorption and emission spectra of Er3+ in developed GC, which again was of benefit for reduction of noise in the EDFA caused by overlap of emission and adsorption bands at about 1.554 μm.
