One of the most interesting features of a wavelet is its Sobolev regularity. In this paper, we construct new wavelets that are more regular than the Daubechies wavelets for a given support width. We tabulate the coefficients of the new filters to make them easily accessible. We show that these filters outperform the Daubechies filters in the L-2 approximation of the ideal filter. An application for speech analysis, synthesis, and compression is provided.
