摘要
The offshore and dredging industry increasingly converge. In this lecture we analyse the control tasks on board two trailing suction hopper dredgers and one multipurpose offshore construction vessel. Nowadays control and presentation systems on dredgers have evolved into highly automated systems which can be operated by only one person. - eliminating any chance of miscommunications or similar problems. This approach will be explained in full here Given the proven benefits of the approach in the dredging industry, we make suggestions to apply it to control, automation and operation in the offshore industry. Our aim is to generate discussion about the real issues relating to the control of offshore vessels, and to obtain feedback.
