The first Australian record of the planthopper tribe Breddiniolini is established with the description of Hemielissum evansi gen. et sp. n. Examination of the male genitalia shows that the Breddiniolini belongs in the subfamily Cedusinae of the family Derbidae and the tribe is therefore transferred from the Achilidae.
