Synthesis of LiCoO2 particles with uniform size distribution

LiCoO2 cathode materials with uniform gr ain size were prepared using fine grained CO3O4 particles. The effects of the molar ratio of Li/Co and the sintering temperature on the microstructure (the grain size and its distribution) and the electric propel ties were studied. The AC impedance analysis indicated the presence of the secondary phases mainly at the gr ain boundary. The reversible Li+-intercalation/deintercalation capacity was also examined and the maximum value of 130 mAh g(-1) was obtained using the optimum preparation conditions.
