Effects of permethrin on muscarinic cholinergic receptors in mouse striatum

摘要
The effects of permethrin (PM), a type I pyrethroid, on the cholinergic controlling motor activity in the striatum were studied in orally PM- treated mice, once daily for up to 14 days. The results showed that PM significantly decreased ambulatory activities in dose related manner and caused the alterations in acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity and the expression of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR). The relationships between the changes in mAChR expression and pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease caused by PM should be further investigated.
