摘要
In the context of the creation of heavy evaporation residues, the interplay between capture, quasi-fission and true compound-nucleus fission is discussed. An approximate factorisation of the cross section into a compound nucleus term and an entrance-channel term is derived, with each of these terms being clearly defined.
