摘要
The single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) rings were observed by scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/S). The raw SWCNT was synthesized by arc-discharge method and were ultrasonically dispersed in lithium-dodecylsulfate (LDS) and purified with a crntrifuge. The location-dependent electronic feature of the ring in terms of their formation mechanism was also studied. It was observed that a proto-ring was generated from an individual nanotube by the ultrasonic irradiation and could grow further to thicker ring structure by attachment of other single-wall carbon nanotube pieces or ropes.
