摘要
Culture in Catalonia and, specifically, science had all important rebirth in the second half of the 19th century. But, due to the lack of State support, development of earth physical sciences in Catalonia at the beginning of the 20th century was almost a private enterprise. This Situation caused dispersion of the efforts that, in my case, were extensive. The study of the evolution of earth sciences and the recovery and study of the accumulated data in such circumstances requires relying heavily on manuscript information. The present study deals with the problems and possibilities of this Situation, shows Some Study cases and extracts some conclusions of general interest from them.
