摘要
Fecal incontinence is a socially isolating disease that causes physical and psychologic distress. Many therapeutic options exist, that vary from a medical approach, including biofeedback to a variety of surgical interventions. The Authors report an outlook of these treatments and the early experience about radiofrequency Secca technique for the treatment of fecal incontinence. 7 patients have been recruited. All subjects completed the fecal incontinence grading scale (Wexner), the fecal incontinence quality of life (FIQL), to establish a baseline. In every patien an anorectal manometry was programmed as well as endo anal ultrasound. The SECCA procedure was performed by a single investigator, in Lloyd-Davis position and in general anesthesia. From this experience, we can concluded that Secca appeared safe and effective for FI treatment, it reduces the frequency and severity of FI symptoms, and improves patient's quality of life.
