The effect of CeO2 on the microstructure and dielectric properties of CaTiO3-based ceramics.

摘要
The effect Of CeO2 additives on the microstructure and dielectric properties of a solid solution of CaTiO3-La(Mg1/2Ti1/2)O-3 ceramics was investigated. Addition Of CeO2 resulted in rapid increase in bulk densities of the ceramics accompanied by accelerated grain growth and reduction in the amount of porosity. The sintered specimens were investigated using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. Addition of 0.5wt% Of CeO2 leads to a remarkably increase the relative permittivity. Further increase in content Of CeO2 did not affect the relative permittivity. High Q values were maintained up to 1wt% CeO2; further addition of ceria reduced the Q-value from 30000 GHz to 22000 GHz. Sintered density does not affect the Q-values. A high quality dielectric ceramic with epsilon (r) of 50 and Qxf of 30000 GHz was prepared.
