The admission of blacks into our leading law firms is to a great extent a product of affirmative action programs that bring African Americans into the leading law schools. These me the important feeder institutions that place their graduates in positions as associates in the nation's most prestigious law firms. Curtailing affirmative action admissions at the nation's most prestigious law schools necessarily means that the progress of blacks in obtaining associate positions and ultimately partnerships at the nation's influential law firms will be seriously damaged.
