摘要
As-cast hypoeutectic Mg-Si alloy showed a high damping capacity at room temperature. This resulted from the co-effect of damping peaks PO and P, which were detected at 0 degrees C and 100 degrees C, respectively. PO and P, were considered to possess similar properties and they were caused by the interaction between dislocations and impurity atoms or vacancies. Heat treatment strongly influenced the damping capacity of this Mg-Si alloy. (c) 2006 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
